Yes and No ... Mostly yes
There are strict NCAA rules for every sport about when they can and can't train ... which basically means when they can train with the coaches. There's the in-season training that starts in the early fall and then they are allowed a certain amount of time - a couple of weeks, I think - in the summer.
But frankly, D1 guys train almost year round. When they are not allowed to train with the coaches, that's when they might be working camps, and basically practicing with each other as much as possible. Or they are working with SERTC.
The focus is a bit different during the off-season time too because most of them are focusing on rebuilding or adding muscle and nursing injuries from the previous season. They may focus on adding some skills or perfecting one move that needs work. But they try to stay close to peak shape, although maybe enjoying a few extra pounds allowance.
