Big 10 and Pac 12 fans like mentioning AAU membership too...

Big 10 13/14 or 92.9% AAU membership
Pac 12 8/12 or 75%
ACC 5/14.5 or 34.5%
Big 12 3/10 or 30%
SEC 4/14 or 28.6%

Virginia Tech is seeking AAU status along with other ACC members FSU, Clemson, and NC State. Syracuse lost their AAU status. Nebraska lost their status. Utah and Arizona State are seeking it too.

IMHO, Tech's academic standing is just as good or better than several of the present AAU schools. Some of those schools received membership 50 to hundred plus years ago. Tech was a small military school back then.
