Well I don't think OU or anyone can just slip out
My scenario is that Texas and OU tell everyone their intention is to leave the Big 12 at the end of the GoR/TV contract.
Unless the remaining members raid a P5, there are no equivalents, or even close to equivalents, that can help the remainder maintain their "P" status long term. The writing will be on the wall that a Big X is destined to be a "G" level conference with a G level TV contract.
At that point, I think those who can get to another P5 will try to arrange their future sooner than later. As the number ultimately being left behind diminishes, then you talk settlement and earlier departuresgetting along with life.
My OU-only bolting scenario would have them buying back games and perhaps challenging the Big 12 in court for failure to act in the best interest of the members.
