When you say "work," are you also considering television money?


Like I said before, if you load up a conference with bunch of small private school with little to no fan following, don't expect to get huge television contracts to air your games. Lack-luster income means the biggest and most valuable schools will start looking at the other P5 conferences with huge TV contracts. We may have a GOR that will postpone the inevitable, but a house built on sand will not remain standing. Once the big schools depart, the TV contracts get smaller, then the rest of the big schools leave, and you have another AAC.

Go ahead and expand to 20+ schools and see what happens. The ACC has too much deadwood now, and can't support bringing in 3 "strap-hangers" just to bring in Texas. Heck, just adding one strap-hanger to get ND might push the ACC over the edge...
