I've added as much to this board as anyone...
and unlike the ACC apologists around here, I've generally been correct when calling out the shortcomings of this league's leadership. Since I've been observing this stuff, around 2002, these guys have made nearly every wrong move in the book. It's a LONG list of horrible moves and decisions. As I've stated on numerous occasions, a random polling of posters to this board would have brought about better results.
I'm dead seroius about that.
Starting with the decision to add BC and Cuse over VT, more decisions than not have been poor decisions. They've done all that could have possibly been done to turn this league into a second tier entity.
And let me just go out on a limb right now and fill you in that this new "network" will not be the answer for the ACC. It's not going to do much to keep VT competitive with the Maryland's and Kentuckys of the world, much less the Penn States and the Tennessees. The sting of these things are only beginning to set in. FSU and Clemson can hold them off for a while with their 80K seat stadiums, but VT is now having its coaches plucked away one by one by schools like Texas AandM. Texas AandM doesn't have much more to offer than Virginia Tech, except the tens of millions of dollars and uber exciting football schedules their league provides. Just wait till someone like them throws big bucks at Buzz. He's gone. Or what happens if Fuente is successful and an SEC or B1G school throws $5 million his way. How great is this bus league gonna be then?
