Provided Texas an out should realignment come. It is like a lifeboat to switch conferences in a GOR world. Their revenue is about what a p5 payout was when it was negotiated years ago. I.e. Currently it is in the low 20s for most p5 schools. That coupled with away games a conference would provide enough money to bridge the lost revenue of the big12 gor.

For instance, Notre dame gets about 15 for just their home games from NBC. If the acc for instance got about 15 million for the away games they played in acc there would be 30 million to float Texas even with a gor should they choose to change conferences. This would be an interim step until The acc could then negotiate a new contract. Of course this equally applies to any conference. However not all conferences are ESPN properties. I doubt they would build a bridge to nowhere.
