I think it is time to go on offense again...
Remember 13 years ago....
The ACC met at beautiful Amelia Island or Ponte Vedra Beach to create their strategy to rock college sports. They decided it was time to kill the Big East and expand to 12 by adding Syracuse, BC and Miami.
We all know that the rest is history with a crazy process that included our inclusion into the ACC with Miami. Later BC, then SU and Pitt, and later Loserville following the departure of Maryland. Also ND came in for a friendly relationship.
The Big East was crushed and is now a shadow of itself. Yes..I know Villanova just won the basketball championship.
To me, it looks like the Big XII is on the ropes. Texas has decided that by holding the Longhorn Network and the substantial windfall of cash that they make from it, that the rest of the league has no chance of obtaining a network. Therefore, if an ACC Network truly does happen, I think the Big XII is in a big mess.
I believe that the ACC Network will be the big lynch pin that will set off another tectonic round of conference reshuffling as the Big XII either implodes or changes character. I also believe that the ACC will go to 16 or maybe even 20.
Now if we can just sort out this network thing...
