Interesting that they try to distinguish from digital streaming
I'm sure Kenny Mayne was funny doing that. But them making light of live streaming is very ironic. In almost every ratings report you can find on a big event, like the NCAA Tournament, the TV ratings are noted, but now the on-line audience is measured and touted quite loudly by ESPN and others. It's always positioned as "the television ratings were down yet again, however the digital audience grew by 500% for the third straight year"...or something like that. In addition, when they counter-argue about their seven million homes lost to cord cutting, they usually say in the same breath how much people are watching their live sports digitally. Just don't get what they're doing by making fun of the quality or attractiveness of live digital streaming.
