Interesting comment on Pac 12 academics....

Everyone seems to be talking about the Big 10 and SEC, but the Pac 12 may end up getting 4 from the Big 12 and becoming the first Power 5 conference to get to 16 members.

Academically, Texas has always admired the 4 Pac 12 California schools. Now Trammel says Oklahoma looks at the Pac 12 the same way as Texas. The Pac 12 unsuccessfully tried to expand with 6 Big 12 members in 2011 and only ended up with Colorado. Maybe this go around, the Pac 12 gets it right and expands with Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and either Texas Tech or TCU or Baylor? 4 former Big 12 schools make a very convenient eastern pod that goes along with a Northwest pod, California pod, and Mountain pod. This makes more sense than moving anywhere else. No way the Big 10 takes Oklahoma State or Texas Tech. The Big 10 likely gets Kansas and probably UConn if the desired number is 16. The ACC probably stays at 14 since Notre Dame isn't giving up its football independence. The SEC stays at 14 simply because there's nothing left in the Big 12 that makes them a better conference. WVU will be trying to get into the ACC and SEC but neither will accept them. Iowa State, Kansas State, TCU, and Baylor are left out playing the "Hoping game" with WVU, Cincinnati, BYU, and a few others. Maybe the Big 12 survives and adds enough AAC schools to get to 10 or 12? Maybe the AAC expands with the Big 12 leftovers and BYU and hopes for Power 5 status?
