ND TV payouts
ND makes about $22-23 million a year from NBC (rumored new contract amount)
ND is private so no public disclosure. ND made $15 million a year under the old 2010-15 NBC deal.
The ACC paid ND $4.9 million in 2013-14 from all sources.

ACC schools make, what, about $19-20 million a year from ESPN?
Big Ten schools make more now and will make a whole lot more once the new contracts are signed.
The Big Ten is printing money and will print lots more.
There is no way for the ACC or ND to catch up, even with a viable ACC Network.
The SEC and Big Ten make and will make so much more TV money than anyone else for the foreseeable future.
So, the only way that ND can make as much TV money as Purdue in the future is to join the Big Ten, which it will not do.
My point stands. ND knew it would make less money by rejecting the Big Ten and joining the ACC.
As to your last point, I agree that ND should stay independent and keep its exposure on NBC.
