You'll very likely be able to buy tickets to Liberty from VT

We probably won't sell out of season tickets, so single-game tickets will be available.

But you raise an interesting point. When and if we start selling out season tickets again, should there be some effort to maintain future growth? For example, my friend and I started getting tickets through the Recent Grad program in the late 1990s. That was recently reintroduced, I believe, but was not in play for years while we sold out.

Is that wise? Would it be penny-foolish but pound-wise to, for example, hold back 2,000 season tickets (or 1,000, whatever) and reserve them for two groups -- Recent Grads and single-game purchasers who don't have season tickets? If non-season-ticket Hokie Club members would be able to enter a lottery for single-game tickets, that might provide some added incentive to join. And getting them back for a game will likely whet their appetite for more.

All told, both programs would be an investment in the future. It's easy to implement them now when we're not selling out; the tough decision will be if we continue them once we're selling out and have higher demand. I think the Hokie Club was short-sighted when they previously ended the Recent Grad program; hopefully that doesn't happen again. Even in a high-demand world, we still should be looking to future growth.
