FWIW I'm in the same place as Guru: zero impact personally. It just seems what you are suggesting is what has by and large what has always been done and it's gotten us to the current status quo. I've seen marketing campaigns come and go using different approaches yet here we stand. So the proposition you are putting forward is to continue what has not worked. I don't know if the model Whit is putting forward is the correct one but inevitably you have to try something different. Whit has built up a pile of political capital and is now spending it, but keep in mind he built that capital up by making good decisions on behalf of VT. As a result I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I also have a fundamental issue with Guru's positioning of the matter by projecting the corruption of DC on the Hokie Club or the VT athletic department. Seems like he's more upset Bernie Sanders ain't got a snowballs chance, nobody cares, and he needs a perceived tangential topic to vent on that may actually be listened to.
