Town Hall Meeting thoughts? why gouge loyal HC members for more $ 40% more?

Trying to organize my thoughts here...sorry they are a little all over the place

Growth - $10mm to $14mm
- To my understanding, the HC is looking to raise about $4mm more annually through ~10k current HC members. This is after the 10% bump a few years ago....
- From LY to TY we only grew 160 net members. Without a significant number in growth YOY, we cant expect loyal HC members to keep opening their pockets to make up for the lack of external growth.

NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE AND DICE IT, 10k MEMBERS DONATED $10 MILLION LAST YEAR. THEIR GOAL IS $14 MILLION. THE 40% INCREASE IS GOING TO HAVE TO COME FROM CURRENT/LOYAL/LONGTIME HC MEMBERS.

Why the change now?
- The town hall meeting said there were about 1,500 members of the HC currently not giving anything (because of their total cumulative giving)....therefore, those people are going to have to pay up $800/seat to stay in their most likely "good" seats they are at due to $50k or $100k cumulative gift levels. Not going to make anyone happy there....pissing off a lot of people....just because you aren't contributing to the positive cash flow now/future, doesn't mean we shouldn't value your past gifts....
- I don't care how many people stay on and "deal with it", nothing has been done to even make these 25+ year donors who have given >$50k cumulatively feel like their money has been worth anything at all....a middle aged guy who just joins who makes a good living can afford $3,200/year for a few years his daughter is in school should be more valued than a long time donor with over 15x as much given to the HC??

Family Issue
- I understand we have to "pay to play" or "ante up", however, I think these percentage increases are a bit ridiculous, especially for families of 4 as well. The seats in a section are not as simply defined as "total giving dollars divided by seats" for a "per seat dollar amount".
-Lets take for example a family who was in the Silver Hokie level ($1k-$2k). They used to give just over $1,000 to maintain silver and get decent seats. Now in order to maintain decent seats, they will most likely be looking at PURPLE ($350/seat) or GREEN ($600/seat). This means in order to maintain 4 seats in either section, their total DONATION amount will go up either 40% or 140%.

Least Impacted
-The only group that will not see a significant increase is the Golden Hokie level (assuming they were at just >$2k annually), they will only see a 20% increase and a 60% increase if they want 4 tickets in either the $600/seat or $800/seat respectively.

Lastly, would like to hear thoughts regarding this chart. This chart assumed HC level was at the minimum, because it wouldn't make sense for a member to give somewhere in the middle of two levels unless they were well versed in priority points......also pardon the flip-flop in colors. RED depicts an "increase - negative impact on an individual donor" and GREEN depicts a "decrease - positive impact for an individual"
