I've never understood this. JW was very money conscious in paying down the debt and managing the AD very well. How often were there price increases in ticket costs under JW? A couple times, a few dollars here or there, and a big jump when VT moved to the ACC. Whit's changed the price each year so far. Not only that, but they are now offering varied ticket pricing based on when you buy your tickets AND they market very hard to try and sell each and every ticket. JW was never about building revenue hard, or doing what someone else did. It's one of the best things about his tenure, and now one of the worst.

Really, it's kind of like the football team. Beamerball worked for a long time, really well. But it's fallen behind the meta of the current state of college football.
