Normally you can tell by the caliber of kid


You'll never know the exact figures, but the caliber of kid will tell you the difference. However, nothing to stop a 5-star caliber kid from walking on if he doesn't care about money, but i'd say those are very rare.

I'd say PA and OH have the richest wrestling states. Another way to tell is how they've held up nationally(Walsh Ironman, Beast of the East, Powerade, NHSCA Nationals, Flonationals, NHSCA Junior Freestyle Nationals, etc...).

You could be a 5x state champion though in a weak state and not be worth even a partial scholarship.
