The new B1G contract gives ESPN another incentive to launch the ACCN. The expiry for the B1G contract is 2023. It coincides with the end of the Big 12 contact, and precedes the ACC expiry by only 4 years. That would be a time that realignment could be a concern. I think that ESPN may offer to launch the ACCN if the ACC will extend the duration of the current deal by several years. ESPN would likely need to pay up for that consideration from the conference.
I keep going back and forth on the possibilty of a real cable channel for the ACC. The duration of the B1G contract currently has me thinking "possible."
