If you want to be fancy, a rubber-headed hammer and a block of wood

Put the block of wood against the floor piece and hammer on the block of wood.

Whatever you do, don't do all the edges first. It's not a jigsaw puzzle -- you'll want to have any off-sized pieces on an edge. Try to pick which edge before you start and start on the opposite side.
