Heard move from 800 to 500 games was coming, which would increase profits.
That should get them into the ball park of the ACC's $3 million. And remember that $1.5 million number is dated. For every new subscriber, the Pac12 is keeping all the money. They aren't splitting it with anyone, which means their profits should grow faster than the others. I would be shocked if they aren't in the $3million/school/yr range within a year or two.
And yes, while there is a nest to unravel, I don't feel it's anything like the nest involved with the ACC. Raycom and CBS1 and MSG are barriers to an ACCN.
Also, the Pac12 has many significant disadvantages when compared to the ACC. There are simply tens of millions of less people within their respective footprints. Furthermore, as a guy who lived out in Cali for a while, the left coast is just not all that into college athletics. There's a few solid fanbases, but schools like SC have to be dominating the world to fill stadiums. I just didn't sense much passion when it came to college athletics.
The ACC is much more similar to the B1G and SEC when it comes to these things. The ACC should be making quite a bit more money than the Pac12 out of the gate, regrettably the ACC actually brings in less from TV. It's ridiculous.
