I couldn't tell if the pitcher was covering first on the dropped fly ball
in the last inning or not, but our base runner was barely halfway to second base when he was thrown out for the force. If the pitcher wasn't covering first base, then our runner should have been halfway to second on the fly since the first and second basemen were trying to make the catch in shallow right field.
