I don't disagree that ACC football does have some sex appeal

Hence why I said the ACC is still looking for it because the conference hasn't reached its full potential like it has done in basketball or the SEC has done in football. In Miami's case, I do believe the lack of sexy football schools does hurt the conference's perception as a football conference.

At this point in time Clemson, FSU, and Miami should be perceived as regularly competing for and able to consistently sign SEC-type recruits even during down year. For the most part Clemson and FSU have been able to live up to that expectation. Miami has not for a variety of other reasons.

If Louisville, VT, NC State, GT, Pitt, (maybe) Duke, and (maybe) UNC are able to get to the point where the football programs are viewed as being sexy (even during down years), then nationally ACC football will be viewed as being sexy. It will probably be along the lines of Big Ten-type sexy since the conference (as a whole) will be good/great in both revenue sports. Which is still a great place to be because it will be far away from the "red headed stepchild" label.
