The ACC will never invite someone who's basketball is worse than awful.

And Rutgers men's basketball qualifies as worse than awful. It's been that way for forever. UVA played Rutgers last year, and Rutgers only scored 8 points in the second half, less than 30 for the game. They are God awful. The only way the ACC invites someone worse than awful in basketball would be to take Navy if it guaranteed Notre Dame football. Rutgers doesn't do that.

I know that the priority is football, but basketball is also important to the league. Rutgers football has been making minor bowls, but it isn't really a barn burner either. Penn State might be thrilled playing games at Rutgers, but I would imagine that the other members of that Big Ten division in the east will grow really tired of doing it relatively quickly.

I know they bring New Jersey and are good academically, but when all is said and done the ACC is an athletic conference. There are over a dozen better choices in that region athletically than Rutgers.
