These behind the scenes deals are the reason this league has slid from the top athletics conference to nearly falling apart in slightly over a decade. And one needs to look no further than that Raycom deal or the UNC abomination to understand that. Furthermore, this network "negotiation" has lasted about 6 years too long. when the ACC's initial deal with ESPN was being negotiated, the B1G was already making major coin from a network. Furthermore, a single university signed a deal with ESPN for a network not long after the ACC signed w/ them. Since then, other leagues and schools have formed networks, including the Pac12, which formed one on their own.

And oh, recent reports are suggesting this network will never really happen. I will admit the NC St. studio info sounds promising though. We shall see. My money's on the ACC receiving about double what the University of Texas receives for tier 3 programming for all 15 schools and ESPN simply scattering ACC games across its lesser known channels.

If the Pac12 and Texas already have networks, the ACC should have one. And if we do not get one, I think the public deserves an answer as to why.
