I firmly believe the recruiting pendulum has swung too far TO the physical

traits and too far FROM the baseball IQ/fundamentals side. There has to be a balance between the two.

It's not just at VT, but knowledge of the game, situational awareness, and emotional composure seem to have almost vanished from the college coach's "must have" recruiting checklist. Other schools may have time and resources to be able to develop the underclassman in ways VT has not.
