On a couple of the other threads I saw a few people

even blame Dean Ehlers (JMU's AD when Ronald Carrier was President) for the decisions made by JMU back in the 1980s. Those same posters used VT and the decisions the school made during that same time period as comparison. They even went as far as to say that because JMU unknowingly made the decisions they did back then, that path has led the school to its current predicament. They believe if JMU (back then) had the same vision as VT and continued to press forward (like VT did even though athletic programs had bumps/down years to overcome), then JMU may be in the same boat as VT and UVA today.
