Getting to Top 5 Consistently is key

Dresser said this himself during a recent interview. A team has to put itself into the top echelon on a consistent basis, and then they need everyone who is ranked high to perform up to standards, plus a few surprises (like McFadden's run), and they could slip in if the front runners - I'd guess PSU and Ohio State next year - suffer a couple little stumbles. VT coaches will be looking to cement that top 5 status next season. That could have a huge affect on recruiting going forward.

PSU was loaded with talent this year and will be again next season.

Ohio State could be even better next year than they were this year. Keyshawn Hayes comes off his redshirt year and will be top 10 - no question about that - and probably top 5. He could find himself in the finals as a freshman just like Martin did this year. Yeah, then there's Martin. It will be interesting to see what Kyle Snyder does coming off a likely Olympic run. That will have a big bearing on the upper weights next season.
