Women's Lacrosse loses to #6 Louisville 15-9. U of L is proof....
that you can have a successful women's lacrosse program with the right head coach and staff. Louisville is ranked #6 (though I think they may be a little over ranked). Louisville isn't a "snob school." Louisville isn't located in lacrosse country. Louisville isn't an academic powerhouse like many lacrosse schools. Their program began NCAA competition in 2008. In their first season they won at Tech 10-9.
Their head coach, Kellie Young, has been their only head coach since coming to U of L from JMU in 2006. Young also coached at Sweet Briar College from 1996-1998. Her team is 11-1 and ranked #6. Young was criticized in 2013 by a few of her players for being a bully and being too hard on her players, but most of her players supported Young's coaching practices.
All I'm saying is if Louisville can be ranked #6 in women's lacrosse, so can Virginia Tech.
