You should do it.


You should ride this out as long as you can. If the position goes away and you have to do your old job minus a few points you should still be able to weather the storm until retirement. Plus your old cronies that respected you will welcome you back. Going back won't be as bad as you think as long as you carve out a niche for yourself. The longer it lasts, the better for your health and psychological well being. I think you should do it.
