D1 Lacrosse passed hockey recently in men's, far ahead in women's.

It used to be true that there were more NCAA D1 ice hockey programs than men's lacrosse. Today there are 68 D1 men's lacrosse programs, and there are 60 D1 men's ice hockey programs. With women's it's 103 lacrosse vs 36 ice hockey.

Lacrosse is growing rapidly for women. I'd love to see the men's pick up the pace a bit. But it is tough with title IX, and the South and West are slow to adopt lacrosse.
