Probably is sexist, but their wanting more female coaches is rooted in -

and the resentments come from--- having to compete for positions in the past when there was serous bias to males coaching women. I do not have the stats, but that has been my impression over many years as an observer of college sports, and I go back to the 50s. The attitude is understandable and perhaps justifiable until there is equity. VT does not have it.
