Pro golf watch 3/24 - 3/27

Wagner is back in action this week after a 3 week hiatus. Both he and BDJ are in Puerto Rico at Coco Beach CC for the Puerto Rico Open. A great opportunity for both to take advantage of a weaker than usual field as most of the top 70 in the world are at the WGC Match Play event this week.

BDC had a T10 finish at this event last year, granted it was hosted by a different course. JW made to the cut last year as well, but finished T55. BDJ is down to 119th and JW is down to 130th in the FedEx Cup Standings coming into this week. In addition to valuable FEC points to be gained, there are also world ranking points that would be valuable for BDC in positioning himself for the Olympics as well as positioning himself and team Zimbabwe (possibly Scott Vincent) for a spot in the World Cup of Golf at the end of the year.

SV and Trevor Cone are both in Florida for Mackenzie Tour Q School. Top 16 gain a tour card while top 40 gain conditional status on the Mackenzie Tour for 2016. Drew Weaver is already fully exempt for the 2016 season on the strength of his top 10 finish on the money list last year. After the first round, Cone is -1 and sitting T6 and Vincent is even par sitting in T13. Good start for both!

Go Hokies!
