Its actually quite odd


I realize Bud has to say the right thing and be positive about a starter, especially when there hasn't been a real challenger to his position. But geez, its almost like he is talking about a different player.
I'm not saying Motu single handily cost us a game but he sure didn't do his part to play winning football in a few. See Duke. Middle linebackers who get consistently trucked and run through simply are not playing winning ball.
Instinctive? Uh say what. Thats the last trait that should be assigned to him. He has been notably lacking in instinct. Almost comical in how often he was running AWAY from a play.
Anyway I know we have piled on Motu alot but I just don't see why Bud feels the need to heap praise on him. It sounds bizarre. He could be neutral like he his on other players.
Its also a sore spot to me about the old staff where they oversell how great a player is. That lost edge and complacency thing
