What's this?

To me it does not make sense. Why would ESPN


give up the LHN for a B12N. The LHN keeps the Big 12 together at a payout of 15M + profit sharing percentage. That is a small price to pay. If it gets turned into a B12N then ESPN will have to pay 9 to 11 more members. The LHN is far cheaper. I also don't think that the higher subscription fees in the Big 12 footprint are going to make up for the higher costs.

It also takes away ESPN's control on UT. UT can only go to either the SEC or the ACC with the LHN intact. Why give up that control?
