WLAX thought

Was in Blacksburg for the Miami MBB game. At the hotel on Sunday morning, met some WLAX parents. Very nice people who support the program and coach. One thing I got out of the conversation was that while we have an assistant coach who organizes the defense, we don't have one for offense. If you look at the recent scores, it does become apparent that we are decent at defense but our offense, especially against ACC caliber teams is really lacking. The parents felt last year they had Megan Will, who could make goals on her own, but this year they need a better strategy to score and that seems lacking.

Anyone close enough to the program to know why we don't have an offense coach? Money or head coach decision?

Another note - these parents are aware of the turnaround Boston College has made to become a good team in a short time and are hoping the same thing happens at Tech. Obviously BC has done an excellent job at recruiting recently, beating us and others for some outstanding WLAX talent. Surprisingly though (to me at least), there is great optimism from the parents about this teams future.
