I am not sure what the television schedule will look like for the Las Vegas tournament. If fans want to watch the team play a postseason game, then VT hosting a CBI game maybe the only way a good percentage of the fans can do it. Even though cost may be a factor in the decision on whether to participate in a postseason tournament or not, then i would think the amount of exposure is just as big of a factor.
