Even though on paper breaking away seems like a no brainer

especially for football and basketball, it seems that the schools may not be as eager to pull the trigger because of the impact it will have on the non-revenue sports. Also, their attention may be more focused on the stipend issue and trying to bring some closure to it. Given that both the stipend issue and breakaway issue are complicated issues, I am not sure the schools are in the position or even want to try to fry two fishes at the same time.
