Well, couldn't disagree any more with your opinion. Some of my VERY->
most valued friendships, and people whose friendship I value immeasurably 35 years after graduation, were my fraternity brothers. I still see many of them and have a real and solid connection (that spans guys much younger and guys 10 years older than me).
My fraternity was a great group of guys, as drawn to each other by our differences as we were by our similarities.. You think of it as " for those that never managed to get over losing their high school cliques"., For my part, I feel bad for people who missed out on the kind of lifelong friendships my fraternity afforded me
To each his/her own.....Oh, and as to the hoo, I had more friends and "cliques" outside of the fraternity at VT than I did IN the fraternity..I did a hell of a lot more stupid (and probably dangerous or illegal) stuff with them than I EVER did with my fraternity brothers.
Oh well, that's the funny thing about making wide generalizations i guess!
