Demographic trends continue to help the ACC with football recruiting.

The regions for the best high school football recruits has been shifting to the South Atlantic states, Texas, and California for the past decade or so. And it will continue. The ACC's presence in the South Atlantic states is helping the ACC with recruiting, and it should help with football quality given the new coaching hires across the league.

Here is a CBS Sports article with some recent statistics that support this. It talks about the unnatural things Jim Harbaugh is doing to get Michigan presence in Florida. This is stronger evidence than any as to why northern teams might want to look at joining the ACC rather than the other way around, and why Notre Dame saw the ACC as attractive from a recruiting opportunity. And this trend will accelerate.
