So that $50 million was never paid in full and Maryland is now in the B1G. I suspect something similar would occur with the GOR. There's no reason to think it wouldn't. If a flat buyout fee didn't hold up in court, then something as complex as a GOR probably wouldn't. Or did the ACC just leave that $20million dollars on the table to be nice guys. The lawyers and judges would have a mess of a time figuring out damages and what not. Again, the ACC would probably just not pay the exiting team for a year or two and walk away. There's a precedent here.

And with regard to that GOR specifically, nearly every report about it when it was signed included quotes informing the public that the reason some once reluctant schools signed was because of the assurance of a network. We were told of Swofford traveling around with an ESPN rep assuring the schools that it was in the works. I seriously doubt FSU failed to get that in writing. Or are you suggesting they took Swofford's word for it?
