Loses on defense are not insignificant
Our DE situation is pretty uncomfortable. Lots of good DT's, but Maddy was a bellcow. As frustrating as Deon Clark was, he was a good player and we don't have a strong way forward at LB in any position. We played most of the year without Fuller, but still, Fuller isn't on the team anymore.
And I would say we won 6 games last year. Like someone said above, who knows about bowl games, but this looks like a 7-5 team to me.
The two areas that make up the most chance for optimism are coaching and QB. We could see significant improvements in both.
