agree with your sales analogy. The local talent pool is not static, it's changes every year, the quantity of local talent can be up or down and how far away we go depends on that quantity and the local successes we have at the time.
BUT
I wouldn't be surprised that our new HC and/or our new assistant coaches have contacts in some Texas hi schools they want to tap for players. So the sales angle that might be in play with Texas may be a relationship instead of merely expanding the recruiting geography.
