I don't buy it.


Intermat's rankings are legit, don't get me wrong. If we wrestle NCSU 10 times in duals we win 6 or 7 times. The matchups are what they are and favor VT.

But in a tournament ANYTHING can happen. A 15th ranked wrestler might have the particular skill set to dominate a 5th ranked wrestler and wreck a bracket. As such, the teams that usually compete for the championship have 2-4 dominant, nearly unbeatable wrestlers that can go all the way. In this regard I think NCSU has an advantage and could out score us.
