Intermat uses their own individual weight class rankings to project the the NCAA tournament team rankings. They should be consistent and use their own individual weight class rankings for the team dual meet rankings.

I looked at the 5 teams ranked 2-6 in the Intermat dual meet rankings. If each of the 5 teams were to wrestle every other team, the standings would be as follows (this assumes no bonus points):

Some comments:
Our tie would be with NC State, 4-4, with both teams having unranked wrestlers at 133 and 149. We know how that turned out.
NC State actually wrestled all 4 other teams and went 3-1. The match split in their 3 wins was 5-5. They most likely would have lost to Oklahoma State but State was missing one of their top guys. NC State had 2 upsets to beat Missouri.
Oklahoma State was also missing a top guy against Iowa (also a 5-5 split) that probably cost them the win.

My rankings:
2) VT (6-3-1 vs. Oklahoma State)
3) Oklahoma State (2 losses to NC State and Iowa due to injury; smashed Missouri)
4) NC State (beat Missouri with both teams at full strength)
5) Missouri
6) Iowa
