I know we spent years priding ourselves on Thursday night games. We begged for them, then we were upset when we didn't get one, now we're upset that we have one instead of Saturday game.
If you get a Thurs game then most likely you will have a road Thurs the week before or after. Usually this means a week off somewhere in there. That's 3 weekends of the month. Leaving you with one Saturday. I know we'd all like it to be a guaranteed home game but it is what it is.
Bball scheduling can sometimes be unfair, but I doubt they're intentionally screwing VT. Somebody's got to have a road stretch sometime.
