His issues with the way things went down for the duals has nothing to do with making this a put up or shut up thing with UM. That being said we would be favored to win, and now with one of UM's key guys out VT should win comfortably. UM is a quality program and quality opponent that we would be proud to wrestle win or lose.

All Dresser did is cry foul on Iowa and the Big Ten having a strangle hold on the sport of wrestling. His assertion is that the schools are controlling the sport, not the NCWA, which ultimately is harming the sport and any wrestler not wrestling for the power schools. He is just trying to break down barriers.

Rehashing the Brands thing he thought he could come to VT, recruit some good talent and then bolt for Iowa and take the whole program, players and all. Programs and committed recruits are not portable. VT was PAYING him as a coach to represent the school well and build our program. To expect that VT would just give these recruits a free education for a year and "let" them go is simply preposterous. What if football programs were portable and when the coach leaves all the players could go too? Again, we were paying him to build VT's program, not Iowa's. There are rumors Brands knew he would be packing his bags before he even got here. VT was used in the worst way to protect Iowa's status.
