I expect you are right. A thermal imaging system that is small enough


and cheap enough to put in a phone is likely only going to have a range of a few feet.

I expect its intended use is to check for hot or cold spots in close-up shots of equipment or buildings, not to find Arnold Schwarzenegger hiding in the jungle.
