FANS pay the bills, like it or not. Only the ACC is yet to figure that out.


Furthermore, the movers and shakers don't know everything. They get plenty of stuff wrong. Look no further than Greensboro. Honest to goodness, a polling of this message board about conference decisions would have produced better results for the acc than what's been coming out of those league offices.

You can believe what you want to, but that game made an impression on some key folks at Bama and subsequently on the SEC. Again, it was specifically mentioned when all this VT to the SEC stuff was being discussed. VT's travel to numerous Chic Fil A bowls were as well. I don't feel it was THE deciding factor, but it was apparently a factor.

And it's been my experience that you would be surprised how little folks like university presidents know about things like college football fan support. Most of those types don't spend all that much time on message boards such as this one.
