I am also a grad of Blacksburg High School. Grew up in the Highland Park section of town. I am also friends with Claire Childress, Senior Assistant Director of Career Services. Her mother Dr. Mary Tom Long, who was a MD at the VT Infirmary and my mother who was nurse there, were best friends. Mary Tom became the County Health Director, and my mother followed her. Mom helped establish the county school nurse program. Our families have a long history. Anyway, Claire came to my mother's Memorial Service last June after mom passed away. She offered to review my resume. So I emailed it to her, and she offered her thoughts. But that has been the only interaction I have had career services.

I also went to an alumni function here in the Bay Area of CA last September where I met Dean Benson and others. Some of the people I met asked me to email them with intent to help. But I received no response.

I believe I read your late husband was a pastor. So I think you might understand this. I have had many interviews that haven't panned out. I believe it is because God did not want me to go back to work until I took care of my mother as she declined and passed away.Although she passed away May 31, 2015 and we had her Memorial Service in June, the funeral service did not take place until October. That was the earliest we could get her scheduled to rejoin our father in Arlington National Cemetery.
