We had 2 great Dobes. Only way they would hurt you is lick you to death.

But strangers didn't know that. They wouldn't exit their vehicle, as the dogs would just sit and stare at them.

They'd also let grandkids ride them like a pony. They were awesome animals.

But, homeowners insurance may have problems with any typical "guard dog" breed.
