M.A. Alexander (History)

He taught History of England and Tudor-Stuart History among other classes.

I loved his lectures. So many intricate, rich details. This king was gay. That queen had her face painted every day and never took a bath (Elizabeth I). One king thought he was made of porcelain or glass and feared breaking if he was touched. George I couldn't speak English. German was his native language.

Alexander's classes were quite demanding. In fact, while I regularly skipped most of my other classes, I didn't dare skip his lectures-nor would I have wanted to. The key to getting excellent grades in his class was to take extensive notes and retell the story completely in your blue books with confident flair.
