Don't bother with the "smart" aspect...

I got a smart tv (Panasonic viera) only because it took an upgrade to that model to get a fourth hdmi input. Get a good streaming box (appletv, Roku, fire tv, etc.) and ignore the smart apps on the tv. Just make sure the tv has the specs you want (120Hz refresh, 3+ hdmi inputs, etc.).
